SEIZING HIS OPPORTUNITY: RLHS senior excited about chance to play in college

Red Level senior John Lee has seen a recent rise in college football interested in giving him a chance to continue his playing career at the next level.
“It feels really good,” Lee said of receiving the attention of college coaches. “I’m really excited about having the chance to play at the college level.”
The senior running back had one of best seasons in the state after rushing for 2,258 yards and 29 touchdowns in just 10 games. Following the season, Lee was named first-team running back for the ASWA’s Class 1A All-State team.
Last week, Lee made his first official visit to Point University in Georgia, where the Skyhawks football program extended him an offer to play.
“I haven’t decided where I’m going just yet,” Lee said. “I still have a couple of other schools left to visit. I will make my decision after going to the last one.”
Lee said that over the next few weeks that he has recruiting visiting scheduled for Huntingdon College and West Florida University.
“I’m really excited to check out the other schools,” Lee said. “I’ve heard both places are nice.”
Lee said he is just happy to have this chance.
“The opportunity to continue playing football while getting a college education is something that I’m thankful for having,” Lee said.
