William G. Merrill
Mr. William G. Merrill, 69, of Gantt, passed away at his residence on Wed., Feb. 1, 2017.
Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m. Sat., Feb. 11, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Billy Boles officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.
He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, John “Scotty” and Claire Merrill of Andalusia and Lee and Melinda Merrill of Washburn, WI; a special caregiver David Geohagan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Andalusia Public Library.

JOHN RICHARD “RICK” THOMPSON
Mr. John Richard “Rick” Thompson, 38, of Auburn,, formerly of Andalusia passed away Thurs., Feb, 9, 2017.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sat., Feb. 11, 2017, at Hopewell Baptist Church with Bro. Barry Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was Friday at Foreman Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. He is survived by his parents, Basil W., III “Tommy” and Dorothy Thompson; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Wes and Stacey Thompson and Russell and Erin Thompson; four nieces: Taylor, Madison, Camilla, and Avery Thompson; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Basil W. Thompson, Jr., all of Andalusia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Fran Dickinson Thompson. Pallbearers will be Jackson Thompson, Grant Hudson, Hunter Hobson, Dan Crayton, Jason Castleberry, Jason Locklier, Jamey Reeves and Tommy Morgan.
HOMER L. BILLINGSLEY
Mr. Homer L. Billingsley, 92, of Andalusia, passed away Wed., Feb. 8, 2017 in Bay Minette.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Fri., Feb. 10, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was Friday at Foreman Funeral Home.
He is survived by a step-daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Barry Clark of Andalusia; daughter, Nancy Beasley of Smith Station; grandchildren, Amber Marie Clark and Brandy Granger, and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, and brother-in-law, Helen and Ira Blanchard of Childersburg, and Ruth Caudle of Lincoln.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Burgess Billingsley; a daughter, Peggy Hubbard; two sisters, Mildred Byrd and Katherine Billingsley; and a brother, Ray Billingsley.
ETTIE JOANNE BROGDEN GILMER
Mrs. Ettie Joanne Brogden Gilmer made her journey home on Wed., Feb. 8, 2017, in Lewiston, N.Y.
She was born on Dec.1, 1918, to Edward and Bess Brogden in Red Level. Ettie Jo married Verlie D. Gilmer (deceased) in 1935. She was a charter member of LaSalle Baptist Church in Niagara Falls, N.Y., where she taught Primaries Sunday School until 1973. At that time they moved to Andalusia where she was an active member of Gantt Baptist Church until 2002. Ettie Jo worked at Andalusia Hospital for 10 years.
She is survived by one son, Harry Doyle (Mary Lou) Gilmer, and two daughters, Mary Jane (Anthony) Mattace and Ellanet (Angelo) Ventresca. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, and also two sisters, Betty Baldwin and Mary Sue Brown.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Mon., Feb. 13, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Sharpe officiating, interment will follow in Able Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Monday at Foreman Funeral Home.

ADLEY BLAISE BISHOP
Miss Adley Blaise Bishop, infant daughter of Adam and Chelsa Bryant Bishop, passed away on Thurs., Feb. 9, 2017, at Flowers Hospital.
A private service will be held later. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
In addition to her parents, survivors include paternal grandparents, Jeff Bishop (Connie) and Tammy Woods; paternal uncles and aunt, Aaron Bishop, Jacob Bishop, Jonathan Bishop, and Kascha Thomas; paternal great-grandmother, Mary “June” Townsend; maternal grandparents, Lynn Latham and Buddy Bryant, maternal uncles and aunt: Eric Capps, Jerry Latham, and Ivy Bryant; maternal great-grandparents, Bill and Lucille Willette, and Gyn Bryant.
