It was one of the biggest classes in recent memory, as seven Andalusia High School senior football players inked their signatures to letters of intent on National Signing Day Wednesday in the AHS library.

The biggest signee was cornerback Allan George and his commitment to Vanderbilt University.

“It feels like a huge weight is about to be lifted off of my shoulders,” George said before signing the scholarship. “Now, I’m ready to just get up there and compete for a championship.”

George became the first Bulldog since Nico Johnson to sign with a school in the Southeastern Conference.

Tommy Kanaley signed his letter of intent to continue his playing career for the newly formed University of West Florida Argonauts.

The Bulldogs had three players sign to play for Faulkner University in Montgomery.

Jamal Hourel, Zack Woods and Antonio Gurley committed to play football at Faulkner University.

ASWA second-team All-State linebacker Antonio Gurley and running back Zack Woods each signed with Faulkner.

Jamal Hourel committed to Faulkner also, but said that he is still weighing other options at this time.

Wide receiver Derrick McQueen and defensive back Tyquise Jenkins both signed a letter of intent to play at Alabama Prep Sports Academy in Birmingham.
