The spokesperson for the state fire marshal’s office said Tuesday that the cause of the fire that killed a Babbie woman last week remains undetermined.

“Although the cause of the fire remains undetermined, foul play is not suspected and the case officially remains open or under investigation until department of forensic sciences completes their portion,” said spokesperson Steve Holmes. “I think there is more than one possibility as to the exact cause, but all likely accidental and this one may have to remain in the undetermined category.”

The fire, which occurred in a mobile home off of Potter Road on Jan. 22, claimed the life of Linda K. Harrison.

Holmes said that if anyone has information they would like to contribute to the possible cause of the fire, they are asked to still contact the fire marshal’s office at 1-800-654-0775.
