The Pleasant Home Eagles needed just five area games to clinch the Class 1A, Area 2 title after thumping Houston County on Tuesday night.

“I’m so proud of what this team has accomplished,” Eagles’ head coach Troy Turman said. “It’s a huge boost for our team to get to play at home and play for an area championship. These guys are playing like a team that wants to host area. Hosting area was one of our goals this year, but we aren’t going to settle with just hosting. We want to win and move on to the regional tournament. Our motto for each game in January has been to go in each night and control what we can control, and play our brand of basketball. If we do that, we know we have a great chance to reach our goals.”
