The Andalusia Bulldog varsity boys’ basketball team dropped the hammer on Carroll High School for a 77-42 victory in the opening round of the Red Level Christmas Tournament on Tuesday night.

Allan George got a pair of 3-pointers in the opening frame to help push the Bulldogs to a 20-13 lead at the end of the first period.

In the second period, the Bulldogs continued to push forward and held a 34-24 lead at halftime.

The Bulldogs came out firing on all cylinders in the third period to take a 64-37 lead into the final period.

The game would have started with a running clock in the fourth period, but a full-court shot from Carroll at the buzzer put the Bulldogs’ lead at less than the 30 points needed to run the clock.

It didn’t take the Bulldogs long to push the lead beyond the 30-point mark to give the game a running clock.

B.J. Anderson led the Bulldogs with 22 points.

In varsity girls’ action, the Lady Bulldogs started the game strong, but Carroll was able to come away with a 60-32 win over Andalusia.

Andalusia’s boys will play Red Level Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Andalusia’s girls will take on Red Level Thursday at 9 a.m.
