Bobcats fall in hard-fought affair

The Opp Bobcats battled their way into the finals of the Georgiana Christmas Tournament, but fell on Wednesday night in the championship games to the Georgiana Panthers.

GIRLS

GEORGIANA 57,

In the first championship game of the evening, the Lady Bobcats went up against a quick Lady Panther squad from Georgiana.

The Lady Panthers took control of the game early and cruised to a 57-25 win in the championship tilt.

Autumn Killough had a big night for Opp as she led the Lady Bobcats with 12 points.

Christian Hinton finished with 6 points for the Lady Bobcats.

BOYS

GEORGIANA 66,

OPP 49

The final championship game of the evening pitted the host Panthers against the Bobcats.

Georgiana stormed out front in the opening minutes thanks to quick transition baskets and held off the Bobcats for a 66-49 championship victory.

Reggie Thompson led the way for the Bobcats with 13 points in the defeat.

Shawn Tillis added 9 points and E.J. Redd finished the game with 8 points.

JaMichael Stallworth paced Georgiana with 13 points in the win.
