The Yellow Ducky Laundromat will open its doors on Monday.
Owners Kevin and Bhavika Patel said this week that they will open the doors of their state-of-the-art Laundromat on River Falls Street.
“We will have free wash on Mon., Dec. 5 and Tues., Dec. 6,” said Patel.
On Monday free wash will be from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m., and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
“We have a lady who will do washing, drying and folding,” Patel said. “She will be there those days for anyone who wants to wash or dry.”
Patel said that Wednesdays the store will be open from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m., and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, all day.
A ribbon cutting will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday.
The Laundromat will feature 48-brand new washers and dryers.
And gone are the days of needing a roll of quarters before heading off to the Laundromat to do your laundry.
“We will have a machine that takes credit cards and EBT cash,” Patel said. “We’ll give them wi-fi access, and we’ll have a big screen TV.”
The Patels said when they came to Andalusia five years ago, they saw there was a need for a laundry facility on that side of town.
“We want to see Andalusia grow,” Bhavika said.
They currently own the BP station on South Three Notch Street, and have a few more projects in the works.
“We are doing this for the community,” she said. “They’ve supported us and we’ve made friends and family since we’ve been in business.”
