Traditions: SES students share favorite Turkey Day activities

Thanksgiving is just a day away and last week the Star-News asked a several children at Straughn Elementary School about their favorite Thanksgiving activities.
“My family has a lot of fun at Thanksgiving,” Peyton Gunter said. “I love to play football and watch the parade with my family.”
Arina Thai said she likes to just sit around with her family.
“We really just like to sit around and watch TV on Thanksgiving,” Thai said.
Students like Drew Ferguson like it best when they can help out.
“Thanksgiving is always fun with my family,” Ferguson said. “My favorite part about Thanksgiving is when I get to help prepare the food.”
Family time was also a very popular choice with the students.
“All of my cousins come over for Thanksgiving,” Molly Kate Mooney said. “Getting to spend time eating and hanging out with them is my favorite part of Thanksgiving.”
Brayden Walker had similar things that he likes to do on Thanksgiving.
“Getting to play outside with my cousins is my favorite part about Thanksgiving,” Walker said. “We have a lot of fun playing tag, playing football and jumping on the trampoline.”
Thanksgiving dinner was also high on the list for some of the students.
“Eating turkey for all day is my favorite part,” Isaac Rodgers said.
Cassie Wyrosdick also enjoys the meal.
“I just love eating with my family on Thanksgiving,” Wyrosdick said.
Not only does Bradyn Vendetti like to eat the meal, but he wants to have a hand it putting the bird on the table.
“My favorite part is shooting a big fat turkey and cooking him up for dinner,” Vendetti. “After that, I like to throw the football with my daddy.”
