Andalusia led the Gamecocks 13-6 at halftime, but quickly turned the game into a one-sided affair in the second half.

After the offsides penalty set the Bulldogs up with a fresh set of downs, Elijah Landrum busted loose for a 15-yard touchdown. Burnett rushed in the two-point conversion to put Andalusia up 20-6.

New Brockton’s next possession didn’t last long as Jordan Stallworth picked off an errant pass to give the Bulldogs’ the ball at midfield.

Burnett later threw a 65-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Hill and ran one in from 65-yard to give the Bulldogs a 33-18 victory.

“Burnett is going to be a really special player,” Andalusia Termite head coach Michael Jackson said. “He has a lot of heart and talent.”

In the championship game, the Bulldog defense held off a talented Brewton offense for a 20-12 victory and the team’s third-straight Big Iron Bowl Championship.

“They played really good,” Jackson said of his team’s performance. “The defense was lights out. Brewton is a team that has been scoring a lot of points and we were worried all week that we might not be able to stop them, but the defense basically shut them down.”

Jackson said that the young Bulldogs have also benefited from a pair of high school Bulldogs that help coach the team.

“R.J. Drish and Andrew Holmes have been amazing coaches and role models for these players,” Jackson said. “They come to every one of our practices. They get finished with practice at the high school and then they come and help us out, and then on Saturday they are at every game even after they have played long road games. They are two great kids and I really want to thank them for putting in the long hours they do at the high school, and they still don’t mind giving back to the kids.”
