An Opp couple is dead after a traffic crash near Horn Hill Friday morning.

Irving Ladon Bullard, 82, and Mary Ellen Bullard, 77, were killed when the 1996 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck driven by Mr. Irving collided with a 2017 Peterbilt tractor-trailer.

State Trooper spokesperson Kevin Cook said that the incident occurred at 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 84 and Horn Hill Road.

The Bullards were pronounced dead at the scene by Covington County Coroner Norman Hobson.  The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to Mizell Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Cook said that the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is still investigating the crash.

The Opp Police Department, Opp Fire Department, PrideMark EMS and Covington County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with the accident.
