The Red Level Tigers (3-3) know they have tough test ahead of them as they travel to Brantley on Thursday night to take on the Bulldogs (3-3) in a Class 1A, Region 2 contest.

Brantley leads the all-time series between 37-14.

Last season, Red Level had the Bulldogs on the ropes, but a last second touchdown gave Brantley a 19-14 victory.

Red Level had a three-game winning streak going before losing to Georgiana 43-22 last week. The loss moved the Tigers to 2-2 in region play.

Through six games, Red Level has outscored their opponents 227-146.

Red Level has relied heavily on the rushing attack of senior John Lee. Lee has rushed for more than 1,200 yards through six games.

Brantley comes into the game off a win over Houston County that broke a two-game losing streak for the Bulldogs.

Last week, Brantley defeated Houston County 44-14 to move to 3-1 in region play.

Brantley has outscored their opponents 264-159.

The Bulldogs use mixed attack, but lean more to the passing game where Vanderbilt quarterback commit Jacob Free has shined.

Brantley’s offense has been consistent this season scoring 40 or more points in four-of-six games.

Free has completed 77-of-147 passes for 1,537 yards, 15 touchdowns and just two interceptions. Free has also carried the ball 37 times for 349 yards and eight touchdowns.

Free’s favorite targets are wide receivers Tommy Spivey and Adrian Person Jr.

Spivey has 26 catches for 574 yards and five touchdowns, and Person Jr. has 18 catches for 351 yards and three touchdowns.

On the ground, running back Parker Driggers is leading rusher with 81 carries for 752 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Brantley’s defense has been up and down this season allowing 40 or more points in three games, but 14 or fewer points in the other three.

Kickoff between the Tigers and the Bulldogs will be Thursday at 7 p.m., in Brantley.
