A local business is giving away 10 firearms through a raffle to benefit the Straughn High School student who currently needs a bone marrow transplant.
Traci Flowers of Andalusia Armory said she has been friends with Gordie Cartwright’s mom, Christy, since she owned Curves and she wanted to help.
Cartwright was diagnosed about two years ago with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia.
Since then, he has taken oral chemo and has exhausted all medications for this type of leukemia.
He was matched with his sister, Ginee, to get a bone marrow transplant.
