A more detailed review of the Willis Green Lundy family was begun in last week’s column. Since there was considerable genealogy available, the writing was ended after only two of the children, Matthew Wright Lundy and George Willis Lundy, and families were covered. Therefore, today the genealogy of this family will be continued by outlining the additional children and their families.

The third son, Burrell Jackson Lundy, was first married in 1888 to Roxie Ann (Moore) (1867-1919), daughter of George F.C. Moore and Mary A. (Hobbs). At her death in 1919, Roxie was buried in the Magnolia Cemetery in Andalusia. They had the following children: George Willis “Will,” b. 1889, d. 1966, m. Tolula Eugenia “Lulu” Robinson (1888-1925); Robert Oliver “Bob,” b. 1894, d. 1952, m. Martha Pearl O’Neal (1892-1981); James David “Jim,” b. 1896, d. 1973, m. Virgie Aldora Brown (1898-1974); Raymond Columbus, b. 1898, d. 1956, m. Reba Lee (Woodall) Lamb (1901-1980); Infant Son, b. 1900; Paul Edgar, b. 1901, d. 1978, m. Amy Dora Surgnier (1902-1985); Mary Elizabeth, b. 1907, d. 1988, m. James Thomas Johnson Jr. (1898-1958); two children, b&d. before 1900.

Burrell Jackson was married second circa 1922 to Martha L. Johnson (1888-1926). They moved to Miami and had two sons; Jackson, b. 1921, d. 1926; and Joshua, b.&d. 1926. All of this family died in the great Miami hurricane in 1926. They were buried in the Ortona Cemetery, Ortona, Glades County, Fla.

Henry Allen Lundy was married in 1898 to Georgia Gravella (Knight)(1882-1942), daughter of George Monroe Knight and Frances Margaret (Winslow). They resided in the Andalusia area, and both are buried in the Magnolia Cemetery. They reared the following children: Gussie May, b. 1899, d. 1975, m. George Marvin Moore (1901-1951); Eva Barbara, b. 1901, d. 1989, m. Dewey E. Fletcher (1898-1961); Walter Henry, b. 1903, d. 1980, m. Margaret Elizabeth Roberts (1906-2001); George Willis, b. 1906, d. 2002, m. Louise Ransom; Fannie Louise, b. 1908, d. 1929, single; Elizabeth Pauline, b. 1914, d. 1986, m. William Richmond “Dick” Hayes (1905-1979); and Woodrow W., b. 1917, d. 1968, m. Louise Massey.

The daughter, Sarah A. Lundy, was born in 1873 and was married twice. She was first married to James “Jim” Kaynes, and second after 1900, to Ben Findley. Sarah died in Kynesville, Fla. No names for any children were located.

The daughter, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Lundy, was married in 1893 in Jay, Fla., to Lee Smith. They reared the following children: Nora Evelyn, b. 1894, d. 1988, m. 1915 Ernest Slaver (1894-1998); William Horace, b. 1896, m. 1920 Georgia Lorraine; Mamie, b. 1899; Barbara, b. 1903; Violet Etuile, b. 1906, m. 1922 James Earnest Wilbur; and Edra, b. 1908, d. 1988, m. Neal Hutchinson (1899-1957.)

The son, John Thomas Lundy, was born in1876 in Wing, Covington County, Ala. He was married to Ida Bethanie Williams (1878-1958), daughter of Jesse D. Williams and Onia Elizabeth (Diamond). At their deaths they were buried in the Pilgrims’ Rest Baptist Church Cemetery in Baker, Fla. They reared the following children: Joel Elisher, b. 1897, d. 1961, m. (1) 1920 Cora Annie Stanley (1904-1929) (2) Jessie Borman Adams; Carla Elizabeth, b. 1898, d. 1972, m. Oscar T. McVay (1900-1938); Myrtle Mae, b. 1900, d. 1980, m. Robert Lee Martin (1900-1992); Mary Etta, b. 1902, d. 1990, m. 1919 John Allen “Yank” Atkins (1900-1975); Jesse Green, b. 1905, d. 1952, m. 1924 Minnie Frances Barton (1911-1990); John Wilbur, b. 1904, d 1989, m. Rosa Lee Stephens (1907-1977); Angelean, b. 1908, d. 1983, m. 1933 John Bunyan Kelly (1907-1978); Thomas Albie, b. 1909, d. 1933, m. 1928 Annie Bernice Kelly (1910-2001); Bertha Lucille, b. 1911, d. 1990, m. 1932 Theo Howze (1910-1959); and Onia, b. 1917, d. 1988, m. 1930 Millard Cecil Courtney (1917-2004).

A daughter, Callie “MIttie” Lundy, was born in 1879 in Covington County and died in 1917 in Desoto County, Fla. She was married to F.G. “Jake” Jenkins Sharp. It appears that they did not have any children.

The son, Elijah “Lige” Houston “Dick” Lundy, was born in 1881 in Covington County and died in 1945 in Allentown, Fla. He was married in 1908 to Willa Josephine Leonard (1888-1987). They reared the following children: Elijah Houston, b. 1909, d. 1991; Ibbie Ruth, b. 1911, d. 1912; Hosea Willis “Dick,” b. 1912, d. 1988, m. Mary Hudson (1914-2008); Verna Hill, b. 1914, d. 2002, m. Dr. Clyde Bass (1909-1999); Herman C., b. 1916, d. 1922; Wilson Tate, b. 1918, d. 1962, m. 1939 Sadie Ellen Allen (1918-2011); John Henry, b. 1924, d. 2007, m. Marian E. Allen (1928-2007); and Herbert Vann, b. 1929, m. Gaynelle Johnson.

The youngest child, Rosa “Rose” Lundy was born in 1983 in Covington County, Ala. and died in Jackson County, Fla. She was married in 1909 to Kenneth G. Beasley. No record of any children was found.
