The Red Level (3-2) Tigers earned a big 55-8 homecoming victory of J.F. Shields Friday night in Red Level.
“I felt like we played pretty good in the first half,” Red Level head coach James Wise said. “We lost a little bit of intensity in the second half after they (J.F. Shields) realized that they couldn’t come back. Shields played the game hard, but it’s hard when you only have 16 players.”
John Lee rushed for more than 200 yards and broke the 1,000-yard mark for the season in the Red Level victory.
Lee had two rushing touchdowns and also returned a punt 70 yards for a score.
Colten Dorman rushed for 150 yards and touchdown.
Cale Mancill added a 60-yard interception return for a score.
“It was good win for us,” Wise said. “That puts us over the .500 mark and now we get ready for the big three region games. We have what I call ‘Amen Corner’ coming up. We face Georgiana, Brantley and McKenzie and those are all three games that can get really ugly for us if we aren’t ready.”
Wise said the he was pleased with how the Tigers started the game.
“I thought we came out and established the run like we wanted to do,” Wise said. “After that, we were able to just stick with what we do. Biggest thing was that it was a good clean game that no one got hurt in.”
