Peacock arrested at Westhaven apartments; had pot, synthetic marijuana
An Andalusia man was arrested for drug trafficking and a host of other drug charges at the Westhaven Apartments Tuesday.
Covington County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the apartment to serve a warrant.
When they arrived, they detected the odor of marijuana coming from the residence.
The 22nd Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force responded to assist deputies.
When the DTF agents arrived, they observed a black male carrying a white trash can exit through a side window of the apartment.
The suspect attempted to elude agents and resisted arrest.
After the suspect was arrested, it was discovered that the trash can contained more than 11 ounces of marijuana, more than 15 ounces of synthetic marijuana, and multiple bags for packaging the illegal drugs.
After a search, DTF agents said they found more than $1,000 in the suspect’s pants pocket.
Kelvin Peacock was charged with attempting to elude police, resisting arrest, drug trafficking, possession of marijuana in the first degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Covington County Jail on a $595,000 bond.
