The Opp Bobcats look to start off the 2016 strong as they travel to Brewton on Friday night to take on T.R. Miller in their season-opener.

“Anytime you play T.R. Miller you know you are going to go up against a great program,” Opp head coach Brent Hill said. “They have a new coach this year, but they still have the same mindset.”

Hill said that even though it’s not a region match for the Bobcats anymore, T.R. Miller was still a team that he wanted to schedule.

“They are going to be a difficult team,” Hill said. “We knew that when we scheduled the game. If you want to win a championship, you have to play championship teams. T.R. Miller has a been a powerhouse in 3A for a little while now so we knew we wanted to play them even if it wasn’t a region game.”

On offense, Hill said the Bobcats will run plays according to the what they see on the defense.

“Our offense is still based on what we see the defense doing,” Hill said. “We don’t go in to the game with a set amount of running plays, we just go with what they give us. I feel like we have been doing a better job of that and should be able to take advantage of what they give us.”

Defensively, Hill said he is looking to see what his new linebackers can do.

“We have an experienced defensive line and secondary, but our linebackers are not as experienced,” Hill said. “I will be looking to see how they do when they play against a physical team that runs consistent. I just want to see how they perform when the lights get turned on.”

Opp and T.R. Miller will kickoff a 7 p.m., at Brewton Municipal Stadium.
