Marcia Anne (Crocker) Ray
Marcia Anne (Crocker) Ray, age 72, of Milton, Fla., went to be with our Heavenly Father on Fri., Aug. 19, 2016, after a courageous fight against cancer. A visitation gathering will be held on Thurs., Aug. 25, 2016, at the National Cremation and Burial Society in Milton, Fla., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Marcia is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Jerry, and their children, Rebecca Cassidy (Patrick), Charles Tomberlin, John Tomberlin (Shelly), Rosemary Guilford (John), Paul Tomberlin, Jody Clements, Tammy Wiggins (Tim), and DeWane Ray (Cristi). She is also survived by her brothers, John Crocker (Jane), Dana Crocker (Lorraine), and sister, Rosemary Crocker. She was blessed to be “Meme” to the following grandchildren: Patrick Cassidy, John Cassidy, Colin Cassidy, Michael Cassidy, and Marcia Mary Cassidy, Ashley Brooke Tomberlin, Jerome Tomberlin, Madeline Tomberlin, Valerie Tomberlin, Annie Tomberlin, Ava Tomberlin, Tyler Ward, Tara Ward, Lauren Guilford, Sarah Kathryn Guilford, Rebecca Rose Guilford, Mary Ansley Guilford, Heather Clements Olivera (Victor), Holly Clements James (Paul), Ryne Jernigan (Ashley), Korey Jernigan, Caitlyn Ray, and Mark Ray. The great-grandchildren include: Luca Olivera, Ziva Olivera, Levi James, Lydia James, Tynlee Jernigan, and Oaklee Jernigan.
Marcia loved and appreciated her family and spent her final days surrounded by her husband, children, and close friends who loved her dearly. She will always be remembered as a loving, kind, caring, and compassionate woman who loved people and enjoyed helping others in their time of need.
Marcia was born on July 15, 1944, to the late Lt. Commander John and Margaret (Vogel) Crocker in Philadelphia, Penn. Marcia and Jerry both graduated from Milton High School in Milton, Fla., in 1962. She then graduated from Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans, La. She earned a master’s of science in nursing from the University of South Alabama and also earned the national certificate to practice as a Registered Nurse Practitioner. As a registered nurse, Marcia provided care to patients for 15 years, in the home health care industry. She also later provided clinical care as a nurse practitioner for the residents at Rosewood Manor in Pensacola, Fla., for 15 years.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the staff, doctors, and nurses at Sacred Heart Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Pleasant Home Baptist Church located at 6107 Eagle Road in Andalusia, Alabama.
A private memorial church service will be held by the family.
National Cremation and Burial Society of Milton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
