Pace named Red Level principal

Clifton Bernard Pace, Jr., was named principal at Red Level Elementary School.
Covington County superintendent Shannon Driver said he interviewed several people and is pleased with Pace.
“He has three years in administration as an assistant principal at Red Level High School,” he said. “He has done an excellent job. His background is in elementary, and I believe Mr. Pace will continue to work well with Mr. McGlaun there on the same campus. We look forward to him being there.”
Pace begins July 1. He replaces Chris Thomasson, who has moved to the central office.
In other business, the board:
• Rescinded the hiring of Kari Michelle Biggs as math teacher at Florala High.
• Hired Brianna Shay Thames as math teacher at Florala High.
• Accepted the resignation of Tambry Nix Jewell as counselor at Red Level Elementary.
• Hired Melissa C. Ford as counselor at Red Level Elementary. She currently works in Geneva County.
• Accepted the resignation of Kenneth Ray Bozeman as instructional aide at Straughn Elementary.
• Hired Bradley Stephens as physical education teacher at Straughn Elementary, new boys basketball coach
• Transferred Christy M. Carter from A/P clerk at the central office to bookkeeper at Straughn High.
• Hired Sabrina Snell Reynolds as accounts payable clerk at central office.
• Hired Nickie Lee Graham as custodian at the central office.
• Hired Jill Marie Clark as secretary at central office.
The board also recognized the Straughn High School FFA string band and FFA quartet for its success at district and state.
The board next meets at noon on July 18.
