The tuition bill for a local college student will be a little lower in August, thanks to scholarships awarded through the Alfa Foundation.

Scholarship recipient Caroline Andrews of Andalusia is an Andalusia High School graduate and a freshman at Auburn University studying poultry science.

Andrews will receive a $1,000 scholarship to use toward tuition, fees, books and supplies required for coursework in the 2016-2017 school year.
