Food vendors may operate on Lake Jackson in Florala if they have the appropriate city permit, thanks to an ordinance approved Monday.

The ordinance allows food vendors to operate in specified areas of the lake property – now owned and managed by the city. The vendors must be open a minimum of five days a week from March 15 – Sept. 15.

Vendors are required to meet health department requirements, have liability insurance, and purchase a permit, which is $10.
