Lady Eagles top Red Level

The Pleasant Home Lady Eagles clinched the Class 1A, Area 3 crown after defeating the Red Level Lady Tigers 13-3 Thursday in Pleasant Home.
Tiffany Knoll got the start in the pitcher’s circle for the Lady Eagles and limited the Lady Tigers to one hit in the opening frame. Knoll struck out one batter in the inning.
Abby Walker got things going in the home half of the first with a line drive double to left field.
Sissy Martin followed with an infield single that advanced Walker to third.
The Lady Eagles broke onto the scoreboard first when Anna Bulger drove in Walker with a single.
With one out in the top of the first, Taylor McGhee hammered a ground ball to center, scoring Martin and Bulger for a 3-0 Pleasant Home lead.
After Hope Gunter singled to center, Sami Stamnes roped a triple to right field that scored McGhee and Gunter.
At the end of the first inning, the Lady Eagles held a 5-0 lead.
Knoll retired the Lady Tigers in order in the top the second inning and picked up her second strikeout of the game.
Amy Bulger and Martin singled to start the bottom of the second inning and walk to Bella Worley loaded the bases with Lady Eagles.
Sarah McClung followed with a single that scored Amy Bulger from third.
After two straight outs, Camille Holley sent a ground ball through the infield that allowed Martin and Worley to score.
Stamnes, Knoll and Amy Bulger picked up consecutive run-scoring singles to put Pleasant Home on top 11-0 after two innings of play.
The Lady Eagles added two more runs in the bottom of the third inning with Worley and McClung each coming around to score.
Red Level picked up a run when Beth Foshee drove in Jayla Poindexter on a fielder’s choice.
A triple from Meredith Nall scored Alexis Perdue, and Nall scored the final run of the game when Tori Hall drove her in with a single to center.
Hall led the way for the Lady Tigers going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Stamnes led the way at the plate for Pleasant Home going 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run scored.
McClung finished 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored.
McGhee and Holley each drove in two runs for the Lady Eagles.
