Locals graduate from UWA

The University of West Alabama recently announced its fall graduates.

President Ken Tucker conferred undergraduate, master, and education specialist degrees from the colleges of business, education, liberal arts, and natural sciences and mathematics; and the School of Graduate Studies to more than 500 students from 23 U.S. states and abroad.

Among the graduates were:

• Lesley Thorn of Andalusia, MED, library media; • Monica Fallin of Andlausia, MED, elementary education.

• Jane Flippo of Red Level, EDS, library media.

For nearly 180 years, the University of West Alabama has served the west central Alabama area and beyond through educational opportunity, academic research and public outreach. Founded in February 1835 as Livingston Female Academy, the school is currently home to students from around the world.
