Storm damage was reported in in Lockhart and in Wing just across the county line.
EMA director Susan Harris said last night’s storms brought damage from straight-line winds.
“One home had significant roof damage and one brick home had minor damage on Lockhart Church Road,” she said. “One single wide trailer on Harbuck Bradley Road with minor damage. Numerous trees down and power outages, as well.”
Harris said the incident occurred at approximately 7 p.m., and no injuries were reported.
“For the last three weeks, we have had severe weather in Covington County,” she said. “It is very important that people of Covington County are prepared but also paying attention for possible damaging weather. There have been many lives that have changed in a matter of seconds due to straight-line winds and a tornado here in Covington County. Make sure you are aware of the forecasted weather each day and take all precautions to be prepared.”
