Eagles’ season ends on road

Pleasant Home was knocked out of the Class 1A playoffs Tuesday night after falling 53-36 to the Fruitdale Pirates in a sub-regional contest in Fruitdale.
Nic Woods picked up 4 points in the opening period and Aaron Warthen added 2 points for the Eagles to tie the game 6-6 at the end of the first period.
Fruitdale busted through in the second period with 23 points to take a 29-15 lead into halftime.
William Tricksey converted a 4-point play in the second period to spark the Pirates. Tricksey had 9 points in the second period, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Robert Scott had 3 points to lead the Eagles in the second period.
The Pirates continued to break the game wide open in the third period with 7 points from Tricksey to give Fruitdale a 45-23 lead heading into the final period of play.
Pleasant Home never gave up hope and continued to battle back in the final period with 5 points from Walt Weaver and 3 points from Chase Gunter and Woods, but it just wasn’t enough to cut deep into the Pirates’ lead.
Gunter led the Eagles with 11 points. Weaver and Woods each finished with 7 points.
Desmond Hill led the Pirates with 19 points and Tricksey finished with 18 points.
