Dorothy Jean McBride
Mrs. Dorothy Jean McBride, 83, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., Jan. 29, 2016, at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Tues., Feb. 2, 2016, at Calvary Holiness Church with Brother Mark Sims officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Coffee County. Visitation will be Monday at 6 p.m. at Calvary Holiness Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Billy Joe and Faye McBride of Andalusia; her grandchildren, Heather (John) McBride, Billy Joe (Brittany) McBride, Angel (Dusty) Smith, all of Babbie, Deanna (Chris) Stinson of Greenville, Delesa Fisher of Baker, Fla., Christopher Alan McBride of Andalusia; 16 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Hazel Mac Adams of Orlando, Fla.
Her husband, William Paul “W. P.” McBride, and daughter, Lesa Tod McBride, preceded her in death.

Richard Thomas Lawson, Sr.
Elder Richard Thomas Lawson, Sr. of Samson went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sun., Jan. 31, 2016. He was 78.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 4, 2016, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Bro. Jimmy Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery in Andalusia with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wed., Feb. 3, 2016, from 6 until 8 p.m.
Elder Lawson was born May 7, 1937, in Covington County, Ala., to the late Joseph David and Myrtle Eugene Lawson. He was a devoted minister of the gospel for more than 60 years. He loved Southern gospel music as well as playing and singing praises to God. He was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse of Samson.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Georgia Lee Aughtman Lawson, two sisters, Mary Ruth and Jeanette Lawson, as well as four brothers, J.C., James Fred, Bill and Cleon Lawson, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Richard Thomas Lawson, Jr. (Brenda) of Coffee Springs; three daughters: Janet Padgett of Alabama, Velma Lee Castleberry (Sidney) of Cropwell, Ala., and Rose Marie Mooney (James) of Carrollton, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and a number of special great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Lawson, James Lawson, C. J. Hilbers, David Troublefield, Howard Fussell and Eugene Fussell.
