The Opp Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a registered sex offender who failed to comply with the law.

Opp Police Chief Mike McDonald said that the criminal investigation division is looking for Phuqan Lee James, 22, for failing to report a change of address.

James is described as a black male, 6-feet-3-inches tall, 210 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

McD-onald said that James may frequent the Andalusia and Dozier areas.

“He fled from ALEA Troopers on foot around the Dozier Housing Authority area back on Jan. 5, 2016,” McDonald said.

McDonald said James is also wanted for other misdemeanor warrants as well as one other felony warrant.

“If contact is made do not approach,” he said. “Immediately notify the Opp Police Department or your nearest law enforcement agency.”

Failing to report a change of address is a class C felony.
