The Andalusia Police Department is investigating a rash of vehicle burglaries on the west side of the city.
Chief Paul Hudson said the specific streets are Walker Avenue, Perry Street, Broughton Avenue, Baisden Street and Railroad Avenue.
The department is working each case, he said.
“The perpetrators are walking around and checking vehicle doors to see if they are unlocked,” PIO Allen Scofield said.
APD officers encourage residents to lock their vehicles, even in their driveways.
“Do not leave purses, wallets or other valuables and personal belongings in the vehicle or visible by someone walking by your vehicle,” he said.
Anyone with anyone with any information about the person or persons responsible for the burglaries is asked to call the APD at 222-1155.
