Live music, fireworks part of New Year’s Eve Domino Drop

DRUNKen CHICKen will perform on The Square New Year’s Eve.  The group performs a variety of musical styles.

DRUNKen CHICKen will perform on The Square New Year’s Eve. The group performs a variety of musical styles.

The City of Andalusia will again ring in the New Year with a domino drop at midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Festivities will begin at 10:30 p.m. on the Court Square. Area band DRUNKen CHICKen featuring lead singer Jessica Walker will perform. Other band members are Richard Sims, Heath Cowen, Kyle Richburg and Russ Colquett.

Cowen said the band does Top 40, and everything from Rolling Stones, old R&B, and Motown to country. Band members range in age from 23 to 60, he said.

The Candyland houses will be open for children to play, and fireworks will follow the domino drop at midnight.

Refreshments will not be served on the Square, but

Joe’s Barista will be open, serving hot chocolate and coffee. Joe’s also will have musical entertainment indoors.

Traffic will be blocked off at the Square.
