The state fire marshal’s office on Friday confirmed it is involved in an investigation involving a structure fire in the Andalusia city limits.

Alabama State Fire Marshal Ed Paulk has confirmed that state investigators are involved in a joint investigation with local law enforcement concerning a recent structure fire in Andalusia.

“It’s early in the investigation and further details can’t be divulged just yet,” Paulk said.

The home is located behind Barrow’s Furniture in Andalusia and the Andalusia Fire Department responded to it recently.

Fire marshal’s office mum on details

Fire Marshal Public Information Officer Steve Holmes said, “If anyone may have information, which might aid in this or any other investigation involving the state fire marshal’s office, they can contact the Alabama Arson Hotline at 1-800-654-0775 or visit, www.firemarshal.alabama.gov.”

Holmes said witnesses and information are still being gathered in the investigation.

No formal charges have been brought at this time.
