Senior fueled Tigers

Red Level head coach Allen Catrett says that he expects the returning seniors to fuel the Tigers this season, and hopes their experience will make all of the difference from a year ago.
“This is an older group of guys,” Catrett said. “Most of these guys have played varsity for the past three seasons, but it was because they had to. Their experience should really help us out.”
Red Level returns six seniors from last year’s squad including Dameyune Scott, Jeffery Perdue, Devon Dexter, Anthony Griggs, Hunter Carpenter and Javarius Grooms.
Catrett said that the goal for this season’s team is to come in everyday and get better.
“If we can just come in here every day and make sure we get better every time we step on the court the wins will take care of themselves,” Catrett said. “I expect the seniors to really step up into leadership roles this season,” Catrett said. “They have been with me for several years now and they know what to expect.”
Catrett said that the leadership will be crucial in finishing out games that the Tigers came up short in last year.
“We want to finish games that we didn’t finish last year,” Catrett said. “Last year, we competed in a lot of games, but we just had a problem finishing games out. Hopefully, with the senior leadership we will be able to finish those types of games off. A lot of that is going to come with maturity and I’m seeing that. Two years ago, we didn’t have this senior leadership, and hopefully, that will help us out. One thing we aren’t lacking this year is experience and there is no substitute for experience. Now we just need it to translate to the floor.”
Catrett said the biggest concern for the Tigers this season is remaining healthy.
Red Level begins the season at home against Florala on Nov. 17.
