Andalusia’s El Martez Garden Club held its regular monthly meeting at the Dixon Room of the Andalusia Public Library on Nov. 3.
Arrangements of coleus in burlap-wrapped jars, decorative turkey figurines, and fall foiage with grapevines gave the room a rustic and colorful tone.
Club president, Melissa Gambill, called the meeting to order and vice-president, Shelia Wilson led in the flag salute and Club Collect.
Judy Buck introduced the speaker, Alan Cotton of Alan Cotton’s Florist, who demonstrated the drying of flowers and foliage; then amazed club members by creating a beautiful dried wreath using bleached pine cones, dried flowers and foliage on a grapevine base.
Andalusia is fortunate to have such an artisan in floral arranging.
Prior to the program and business meeting, delicious refreshments were served by hostesses Pat Stewart, Amy Till, and Sandra Proctor.
