A new hair salon opened recently in Andalusia, but the faces are familiar ones.
Strandz Salon opened on South Three Notch Street next door to the Christian Service Center.
Hair stylists Kelley Griggs, Rhonda Lawson and barber and esthetician Jennifer Page have teamed up.
“We offer facials, perms, straighteners, cuts, colors, specialty make up and more,” Lawson said. “Walk-ins are welcome.”
Lawson has been in the business for 17 years; Page for five and Griggs for 10 years.
“I’ve worked on and off Rhonda since I started,” Griggs said.
“And I used to do Jennifer’s hair,” Rhonda said.
The trio said the opportunity to have their own salon just fell in their hands.
“Ultimately when you go into this job, your dream is to have your own shop,” she said. “We are beyond stoked.”
Lawson said business is booming.
“We’ve had a lot of support from our clients and our families,” Griggs said. “Without our families, this would not have been possible. We really have to thank Craig Lord for helping us and our family and friends. It’s kind of like that song, we’re going to be successful with a little help from our friends.”
The salon is open Monday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. until.
