Lutzenkirchen’s dad to headline recovery month event Sept. 9

Mike Lutzenkirchen will share with locals the story of his son, Phillip, who was a former Auburn football star.
Phillip, 23, was killed in a car wreck in Troup County, near LaGrange, Ga.
Mike will be the keynote speaker at the fourth annual recovery month rally held Sept . 9, at Southside Baptist Church.
The Lutzie 43 Foundation’s motto for young students and athletes is to “Live like Lutz, Love like Lutz and Learn from Lutz.”
Recovery month spreads the positive message that behavorial health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people can and do recover.
Rally sponsors include Corey and Amy Bryan, Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce, Covington County Children’s Policy Council, Covington County District Attorney’s office and South Central Alabama Mental Health.
The event is free to the public.
Dinner will begin at 5 p.m., at the Southside Family Life Center and the keynote portion will begin at 6:30 p.m., in the Southside Sanctuary.
