Gov. Robert Bentley announced Thursday he was terminating an agreement between the Alabama Medicaid Agency and Planned Parenthood, Al.com reported.

Planned Parenthood responded by issuing a statement saying, in part, that federal courts have ruled that states cannot exclude abortion providers from Medicaid.

Records from the Alabama Medicaid Agency show it has paid for $4,351 in services for patients at Planned Parenthood’s two Alabama clinics over the last two years. The services did not include abortions.
