A Red Level woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday on Hwy. 84.

May Godwin Thornton, 50, of Red Level was killed when the 2011 Toyota Camry she was driving collided head-on with a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Spokesperson Kevin Cook.

“Thornton was pronounced dead at the scene,” Cook said.

Cook said the driver of the Chevrolet, Othello Taliaferro, 77, also of Red Level, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Cook said nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the wreck.
