“The Godfather” films are my all-time favorite.

Perusing the Internet on Sunday, I came across a headline on CNN.com that stood out to me.

It said “‘Godfather’ actor dies at 79.”

My first thought that it was Al Pacino, who played Michael Corleone, the son to Marlon Brando’s Don Vito Corleone.

But I was wrong.

Alex Rocco, who played Moe Green, the Las Vegas casino owner, died on Saturday. His daughter, who announced his death, attributed it to cancer.

Wearing thick-rimmed glasses in the film, Rocco had a presence. He played the typical mobster tough guy, and I loved it.

Rocco played in many TV and film roles, including doing voice acting in 1998’s “A Bug Life;” he won an Emmy for playing a talent agent in the CBS series “The Famous Teddy Z.”

On CNN’s website, Rocco said in a 2012 interview how he landed the role of a Jewish mobster in “The Godfather,” and said it was his biggest ticket anywhere.

Rocco said since his first meeting with director Francis Ford Coppola, he knew he’d be set as far as acting goes.

While growing up, I constantly watched movies and TV shows.

My favorites were movies and to this day, they still are.

Movies, to me, help me escape and enter into a world that’s not my own, but somebody else’s.

Movies are my favorite media and will be for the rest of my life.

Going to the movie theater is my favorite activity to do with friends.

This weekend, we’re all meeting up to go see Marvel’s “Ant-Man.”

I’m very excited about this film as I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.

Being a comic book geek, this is right up my ally.

I hear it has its funny, but serious moments, which are the ingredients I hold dear.

IMDB.com rates “Ant-Man” 8 out of 10 stars. That’s a good thing.

Looking at the poster, I’m reminded of its strong cast — Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Peña, to name a few.

They, as I am anticipating, will put on a good show.

The cast of “The Godfather” did it in fine style.

Pacino, Brando, James Caan and Robert Duvall helped bring together the film in a great way. They were the glue that held it together.

Yeah, I was sad that Rocco died because he represented a movie, to me, that transcends all others.

When are we going to get another film like that in the near future?
