Opp utilities approves finishing highway turnout

The City of Opp Utilities Board approved finishing construction of a turnout on Highway 331 at the Industrial Park.
Opp Mayor John Bartholomew said the project will cost $51,637.30.
Bartholomew said the money comes from what the city got from the sell of Opp Cablevision.
“We’re using a lot of that money for improvement and infrastructure for our city,” he said.
In other business, the board:
• discussed providing in kind work for electrical, water and sewer services at Frank Jackson State Park.
Bartholomew said the work will cost $13,735.08, and will help get four trailers hooked up for rent.
