PowerPlant Marketplace Manager Neal Dansby said the farmer’s market has seen good crowds and a good supply of vendors.
Vendors line up with several kinds of vegetables and fruits and customers from the area grab what looks good.
Dansby said vendors are bringing out quite a selection, including watermelon, tomatoes, okra, peas, baked goods, pickled reserves, delis, figs and more to the market.
“We’ve had good crowds,” he said. “We’ve had a good supply of both vendors and customers.”
Dansby said at one time this year, there were 26 vendors lined up.
“That’s the most we’ve ever had before,” he said.
Other fruits and vegetables available at the market include peaches from Chilton County and local farms, butter beans and cantaloupes. Additionally, vendors sell baked goods, which include buttermilk pound cake, banana bread, sourdough, yeast bread and sourdough cinnamon rolls.
Dansby said potted plants and flowers; sewing materials, aprons and different types of hot sauces are prevalent at the market.
