Current statewide gas prices are almost $1 a gallon below what was recorded this time in 2014, according to AAA’s website.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.46. In July of 2014, it cost $3.36 per gallon.

At present, the national average is $2.77 per gallon.

According to the AAA’s website, gas prices for regular unleaded in the Andalusia area range from $2.46 to $2.53 a gallon.

Mid-grade gasoline costs $2.70 per gallon, and premium is at $2.93. Diesel fuel costs $2.752 per gallon.

According to the AAA, gas prices have fallen steadily since June.

Right after the Independence Holiday weekend, the price of gas was at $2.77 on July 6, which was down fractions of a penny compared to the last week of June.

Alabama is one of 10 states with an average gas price between $2.411-$2.577.

While a handful of states have seen prices rising and falling sharply, pump prices have been relatively stable across much of the country over the past seven days, moving by +/- 2 cents in 42 states and Washington, D.C. Averages are down in 30 states week-over-week, with prices in Indiana and Michigan reflecting the only double-digit savings. Drivers in 20 states and Washington D.C. have seen prices climb higher over this same period.
