He walks everywhere he needs to go, and sometimes he takes his Indiana Scout acoustic guitar with him.

Jacob Moseley of Andalusia said he’s walking nowadays because his car is unavailable.

“The guitar isn’t an everyday thing,” Moseley said. “If it’s not going to be too hot, I lug it around and play it when I get a chance.”

Moseley said he plays everywhere from LBWCC to Walmart.

“If I need something, I’ll go and get it,” he said.

Moseley said he really enjoys playing the guitar because it was a gift from his father, Kenneth, before he passed away.

“I feel like I owe it to him after death to learn how to play it,” he said.

The former Andalusia High School student said he eventually wants to play the electric guitar, but is going to learn the ropes with an acoustic first.

Music has been a big part of his life, Moseley said.

“I was in the Sound Tradition for four years,” he said. “Music is a big part of my life.”

Moseley said he played baritone in the AHS marching band, and played trumpet in the Andalusia Middle School band.

Moseley said if his first interest — movie animation — doesn’t work out, he’d like to go into a career in music.

“If everything goes according to plan, I’m going to move to California to work for Sony animation or Microsoft,” he said.

Moseley said he plans to continue to play music throughout college.

“I find it helps the soul, like music should,” he said. “It helps me become a better person.”

Moseley is the son of Keitha Howland of Andalusia.
