School lunch prices will increase for Andalusia students in the coming school year.

The board of education on Monday improved the following prices for school lunches:

• Student lunch prices (currently $2) will be $2.25.

• Adult lunch prices (currently $2.60) will be $3.

• Visitor prices will be $3.50.

• AHS student breakfast prices (currently $0.75) will be $1. A free, universal breakfast is provided at both AES and AJHS.

• Adult breakfast prices will be $1.50.

The adult lunch costs do not include tea.

The prices are being increased for the first time since 2011, and the increase is mandated due to the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.
