Pat Dye will coming to Andalusia Garden Center on May 9, and will be signing autographs and selling his new book, “After the Arena”.

 

Andalusia Garden Center owner Casey Teel worked on Dye’s Japanese maple farm in Auburn during his time at the university.

 

“We had a class that went out to his farm,” Teel said. “He was asking us a lot of different questions about the Japanese maples, and I knew a lot about them. The next day he called the school and got a background check on me, and the following day he called me and asked if I wanted to come work for him. I worked with him for three years, and I helped him start the nursery part of his farm.”

 

Dye will be at the garden center from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m., and will sign any Auburn items. He will also be taking pictures with those who want.

 

Along with Dye, the garden center will be having a Mother’s Day sale, and Southeast Alabama Gas District will be there grilling food.

 

“We want as many people to come out and celebrate with us as possible,” Teel said. “Coach Dye will hang around for a while, and socialize with everyone. It will be good time for people to come out and meet Coach Dye, and also take advantage of some great prices on flowers or flower pots for Mother’s Day.”
