Tuesday’s weather caused the collapse of Opp’s Danley Plaza.

A Chevrolet Malibu parked nearby sustained damage when bricks fell on it.

Opp Mayor John Bartholomew said no one was injured during the collapse, which occurred just after 6 p.m. Later, the remaining portion of the wall also collapsed.

The brick wall and awning were located between the Opp Cultural Arts Center and Rancho Grande.

Traffic from Covington Avenue to Hart Avenue along the Main Street was re-routed.

Bartholomew said now the city has to figure out who owns the property.
