ANN PARKER LANCASTER

Ann Parker Lancaster, age 83, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tues., April 1, 2015. She passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side and her beloved dog, “Owen” (Baby O) in her arms. Funeral services will be held on Tues., April 7, 2015, at noon from St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church library.

Ann was born on Jan. 14, 1932, to the late Peter Byron and Kathleen (Moran) Parker in St. Augustine, Fla.

Ann is preceded in death by her infant son, David Byron; brothers, Edward and Pete; and sister, Mary Frances Broome.

Ann is survived by her husband of 63 years, David Caldwell Lancaster; daughters, Kaye Merritt and Debbie Redden (Ray); granddaughter, Fran Redden Morris (John); grandson, Ray Redden, Jr. (Meredith); great-grandson, Burns Morris; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Redden; daughter/niece, Suzy Karr (Steve) and their sons, Taylor and Christopher; her brother, William (Charlotte); and sister, Kathleen Altman; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ann attended Lanier High School in Montgomery, where she was a majorette. She then attended the University of Alabama, where she was named a “Corella” beauty. It was there she met the love of her life, Dave Lancaster.

Ann worked at Andalusia High School as the audio visual director and then at Church Street Elementary School as the assistant physical education teacher. She was a long time member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Upon moving to Marietta, Ga., she enjoyed her grandchildren, playing ALTA tennis and being a boutique lady at Stein Mart. She attended St. Peter and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

For the past 2-and-a-half years, Ann has resided in Birmingham. She attended St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

Pallbearers will be Ray Redden, Sr., Ray Redden, Jr., John Morris, Steve Karr, Taylor Karr and Christopher Karr.

All who knew her loved her and she loved them. Ann was an inspiration to us and influenced so many. Ann will be greatly missed.

The family would like to express their appreciation to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Brookwood Women’s Medical Center and AlaCare Hospice, all of Birmingham.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Andalusia.

Mrs. Mary E. Day, of Florala, passed away Wed., April 1, 2015, at Sacred Heart.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Sat., April 4, 2015, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Barry Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow in River Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

She is survived by her husband, Royce Day of Florala; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Farrell Tatum of Andalusia, and Janice and Randy Hughey of Andalusia; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Mary Lucas of Andalusia; stepson, Billy Wayne Day of Samson; grandchildren, Christy Harris, Jennifer Curry, Jason Tatum, Jeb Tatum, Jill Fowler, Lori Ann Poore, Amanda Bryant and Megan Lucas; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Katie McIntyre of McKenzie; and brother, Eddie Kirby of Andalusia.

KEVIN P. WALKER

Mr. Kevin P. Walker, age 36, of Andalusia, passed away Tues., March 31, 2015.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Mon., April 6, 2015, from Walker Cemetery with Brother Robert Canant officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He is survived by his parents, Arthur and Theresa Walker of Andalusia; brother, Scott Walker of Andalusia; his grandmothers; several aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.
