APD seeks help identifying robbery suspect

The Andalusia Police Department is looking for an unknown male who robbed a convenience store Tuesday night.
Chief Paul Hudson said the Mr. Henry’s convenience store, located on the corner of S. Three Notch St. and W. Watson St., was closing when an unknown male strong-armed the store clerk and robbed him of the store bank deposit. The incident occurred at about 9:45 p.m.
The clerk had closed the store, turned out the lights, locked the doors, and was walking to his car when an unknown male subject, who was hiding around the corner, jumped out and pushed him to the ground. Once on the clerk was on the ground, the unknown male took the deposit bag containing an undetermined amount of cash and checks from the clerk, and took off running in an eastward direction. The unknown male ran east on West Watson Street. until out of site of the clerk.
Officers of the Andalusia Police Department and the Covington County Sheriff’s Department were on scene within a few minutes of being notified of the robbery.
The unknown male suspect involved in the robbery is still at large at this time, although several suspects are being investigated at this time.
