Attention bowling fans, grab your bowling ball and head out to Boland Lanes II for a good cause.
The Andalusia Area Humane Society will sponsor its second annual Bowling for the Animals Tournament at the bowling alley on April 18.
“Each year our local humane society struggles with limited funding to help at risk pets in Andalusia and Covington County,” said Debra Evans of the AAHS.
Their low-cost spay/ neuter programs provide assistance for low-income families and shelter pets to help keep adoption fees low and save more dogs and cats.
And as “Friends of the Shelter,” they support the city-run Andalusia Animal Shelter as volunteers and help with adoptions, Evans said.
There is a 16-team limit, and teams are four-person, co-ed, with no age limit.
“This year, we are not putting age limits on it,” Evans said. “So, if a family wants to participate, that’s fine.”
There is a $50 per team entry fee.
“There will be trophies, door prizes and raffles,” Evans said. “And everything raised stays right here in Covington County to help the animals.”
The event will be at 2 p.m.
Details and forms are available at the AAHS located at 411 Pearl St., Jones Veterinary Hospital, Andalusia Animal Clinic and online at the AAHS website, www.andalusiahumanesociety.org.
