In Babe Ruth action last Friday night, the Blue Jays beat the Rockies, 10-7, and the Red Sox Covington County defeated the Twins, 12-11, at Waltman Russo Field.

Blue Jays 10, Rockies 7

The Blue Jays got off to a fast start, scoring four runs in the first inning.

Warren Rambo started the game with an RBI double that brought home Andrew Burleson. Burleson reached on a walk.

Colter Harrington then stepped to the plate and hit an RBI single that led to Rambo scoring the second run of the game.

Harrington later reached home on a walk.

Winston Riley came around for the final run of the first when he was hit by a pitch.

The Jays added two runs in the second inning, before the Rockies scored their first in the third inning.

In the third, Zac Wallace hit an RBI single to bring in Zac Ward.

The Jays added two runs in the third. One run scored when Brennan Head stole home and the second run came on an RBI single from Rambo to drive in Burleson.

The Rockies made a six-run rally in the fifth to threaten the Blue Jays’ 8-1 lead.

The Rockies scored six runs on five hits and one walk.

The Blue Jays added two runs to their total in the fifth on a two-run double from Burleson.

Red Sox CC 12, Twins 11

Down 8-1 after the second inning, the Red Sox CC climbed their way back by scoring 11 runs in four innings to win by one run.

In the first inning, the Twins scored six runs on two hits and seven walks.

The Twins added two additional runs in the second inning before the Red Sox’s four-run rally in the third.

In the third, the Red Sox’s Ty Hammett hit an RBI single to score Sid Newby, Forrest Greathouse hit an RBI triple to bring in Hammett and Justin Holt walked and later scored on a passed ball.

The Red Sox scored one run in the fourth, compared to the Twins’ two.

In the fourth, the Red Sox had five runs come across the plate. With the bases loaded, Newby scored two runs on a single and Hunter Greathouse brought in another run with a single.

Hunter Greathouse later scored on a single from Forrest Greathouse.

The Red Sox’s last run came in the fifth inning when Holt scored.
