If your one of those parents who has no idea how to navigate Facebook or other social media websites, make plans to attend a free upcoming Internet safety class for concerned parents.
Sponorsed by Robb Daniels of Andalusia and owner of yourlocalinternetguru.com, the event will be held Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Andalusia Public Library.
“The biggest point I drive home to my kids is that nothing you do on the Internet is secret,” Daniels said. “This simple statement does more then just make them think about who sees what they post, it also addresses any privacy issues that may arise from my kids when they realize I’m watching everything they do online.”
Daniels said the event is aimed at teaching parents what they need to know about their child’s Internet travels.
“With the explosive growth of social media, today’s kids are quickly becoming smarter then their parents when it comes to the Internet,” he said. “We will be discussing things you can do to keep up with them by learning simple, free ways to keep your child safe in today’s online world.”
Daniels said seating is limited, so registration is required by emailing him at YourLocalInternetGuru@gmail.com or by phone at 334-232-9110.
