County’s first born Jan. 4

Covington County’s first baby of the New Year, Terrence Allen Morris, was born Jan.4, 2015, at Andalusia Regional Hospital.

New mom Brianna Morris of Florala said she was surprised to learn she was about to deliver the year’s first baby on the fourth.

“We had joked about it earlier,” she said. “But by the time he was born, we thought we wouldn’t be first.”

Baby Terrence weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 21 ¼ inches long.

He was welcomed by his grandparents, Stephanie and Jeremy Slaughter, and an uncle and aunt, David and Brittnie Morris.

The young family received several gifts, including a bouquet from Alan Cotton’s Florist; a gift basket from Darby’s Village Pharmacy; and a case of diapers from ARH.
